Age Meme on Steroids

Seriously guys, what you are looking at is what happens when you go for extensive periods of time without drawing OCs. The second I had a break this semester, I sat down and drew all of these in the span of a week. It's more or less an age reference guide I drew up for myself, but I decided to color it and share it with you guys too.

Anyone who has an OC ought to try this sometime! It really gets the ideas flowing and gets you thinking about what characters are like beyond the ages you normally draw them. The original age meme only includes ages 5-25, so I added 40 and 60 as an extra challenge to myself. The ages are relative too ... in the distant future, people will obviously live longer, so I just tried to keep it proportional to how people age today.

Now onto the descriptions for anyone who's interested! I'll try to keep it short >.>

<sub>Jonathan "Axil" Axilrod
1986 - 2066
5 - Just a normal kid who likes to color.
13 - You know that geeky art nerd who sits alone at recess? That was young Johnny!
17 - It wasn't until high school that Axil got cool, or even got a slightly cool nickname. He was really into urban designs and graphic art at this point.
25 - Sometime between 17 and 25, Axil met this crazy lady named Leona Frost. He hasn't been the same since. He also turned to nature around this point and developed a liking for landscape painting.
40 - What's this? He ended up falling in love that crazy lady? And getting married? And having kids?! By the way, the kid in blue is a boy. >.>
60 - And he's still painting. He can't walk very far anymore, but hey - he can paint for hours.

Donovan Livingstone
1992 - 2067
5 - A grumpy little boy at a private school.
13 - This is the part of Don's life that he wishes he could take back: his 2005 emo phase.
17 - Donovan juggled a lot of responsibilities this year, including school, a job, and running a crime organization (no, he did not fight. He just ordered people around). All this and he couldn't even buy cigarettes yet ...
25 - He finally relinquishes his duty to the crime organization (thankfully, his brother grew up enough to take the helm) and he does what he's really interested in: medicine. Of course, he's still an intern at this time.
40 - It's Dr. Don M.D.! He got a late start of marriage and a family, but at least he got one.
60 - Old, tired, and no - he hasn't just croaked there. And that's his grandkid.

Olvin Clearsky
2352 - 2412 (human lifespan)
2370 - n/a (his data exists in some form for a loooong time)
5 - That look - it's just pure evil, is it not?
13 - And he's still scheming. Right now he's selling cheap hair ribbons for double the price to little girls who don't know better. Pure evil.
17 - Being pure evil had to cost him sometime - he got attacked and now his eyesight is terrible (and his wallet took a hit too). He can't get a job, so he bums off his buddy all day.
25 - Being a bum with no where to go, scientists promised that he could get his eyesight back if they were allowed to research his brain. He agreed. He got his eyesight fixed and went back home to live a normal, successful life - but what with the data they took? They took all the information in his brain and successfully copied it into a motherboard, and thus Olvin's second life as an android began!
40 - He's hanging out with Dr. Flaccil at this point. She loves doing maintenance on him ... can you see why?
60 - Flaccil is dead, and nobody thinks Olvin is an innovation anymore. All he's good for these days is to be a computing device (and hey, he got more hair put in!).

Hazel Aurora Gray
1990 - 2078
5 - She's a skinny little girl. She's hyper and loves pink. And candy.
13 - Ah, she was a teen in the early days of cell phones! She even had one of those hideous flip phones back from 2003.
17 - This is the height of Hazel's popularity. Go Stallions!
25 - A nice spring wedding that marks the beginning of her life with her stoic husband, Steven. He's a chef (which might explain why she's put on a few pounds already).
40 - And now she's a baker, complete with her own successful bake shop ... not good for the figure, I tell you, but delicious.
60 - She and Steven never had children, but now she makes up for it by feeding all the neighborhood kids.

Dr. Jae "Flackle" Flaccil
2368 - 2432 (human lifespan)
2432 - n/a (like Olvin, her data is also available for a loooong time, if not infinitely)
5 - Oh, she was an evil kid. And android Olvin had to take care of her. Can you say karma?
13 - This was her "ugly duckling" phase, complete with terrible hair and huge feet. Olvin enjoyed picking on her, of course.
17 - Lots of improvement in the looks department, but unfortunately not the clothes one. Is somebody in love with Olvin? Well, that's a no-no. He's an android for crying out loud.
25 - And now she's a bitter scientist. And Olvin thinks she hates him. It's not true.
40 - Well. She starts experimenting on herself and her brain doesn't fare so well. And the whole reason for even doing it was to be with Olvin ... too bad she died.
60 - Oh snap! She didn't die! Luckily, she backed herself up to a motherboard before starting all those crazy experiments and got put into an android body. And I effectively blew the minds of all my watchers. =3

Leona Frost Axilrod
1983 - 2025
5 - Does she look like a boy? She acted like one too.
13 - Wait, she's not a boy ... but still acting like one. At least she has a fan in her little bro!
17 - She went blonde, dropped the tomboy act, and became the most popular girl in school. Cliche much? It's about to go down the drain.
25 - Something snapped, and Leona realized her true calling in life - a hitwoman. Plus, she got a new rack with all the money she's been making.
40 - Between 25 and 40? Met Axil. Fell in love somehow. Got married. Started a family. Oh, and got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Sucks for her ...
60 - Aww, she left Axil lonely!! 3:<

Velaric Aubry
2368 - 2518
5 - Isn't he cute? Full of life, too. He's been friends with Flaccil ever since he can remember.
13 - Quite the avid book reader! Olvin likes him, and Flaccil is kind of jealous ... in secret.
17 - This is where things start to get messy. You see, it's socially acceptable for Flaccil to like Aubry (and they've been matched by several websites), and she does like him. But she loves Olvin more ... in secret.
25 - And Aubry becomes a full-time scientist and assigned a project that eventually affects his mental health. Can you see why?
40 - Flaccil took that job for him, but that doesn't mean he escaped with his sanity. His mind is so fragile he doesn't even notice Flaccil's downward spiral.
60 - Now that Flaccil's gone, Aubry hides away with the poor, which actually clears his mind and helps him to find himself again. Once Flaccil comes back as an android, she even goes to visit him.

Caithness "Cazz" Peterson
1992 - 2074
5 - Hey, I recognize that uniform! Yep, he went to the same prep school as Donny boy. And proceeded to latch onto Donny boy for the rest of his life.
13 - He even went through the emo phase with Don. He's still trying to figure out who and what he is right now.
17 - He crossdresses for fun. And he's still latched onto Don, obviously. He even managed to become Don's assistant (or more accurately, pestered Don into giving him the position). Plus, he's lovin the hair dye.
25 - And now that Don's not in the crime business anymore, Cazz decides to become a colorist. And he meets somebody (not pictured here, unfortunately).
40 - While Donovan is building a family, Cazz decides to use the money he's saved up to travel the world (he's never exactly been the best at investing for retirement).
60 - In his old age, he becomes an avid scrapbooker.</sub>
